Grr
The people who created the climate of hate and harassment that made this probably inevitable do not get to wash their hands of it, circle the wagons, and wag their fingers about how nobody "should use this tragedy for political gain." They can shove their political calculations right up their asses. Current Mood: angry |

I Am Such a Nerd
I just a)edited a wikipedia article on b)Narsil. It was only correcting a typo, but still. In other news, there is something very singular about being taught the Immerman–Szelepcsényi Theorem by Neil Immerman himself (he's teaching the theory of computation course I'm taking). |

*bangs head against desk* I did not do well on my midterm, thanks to misreading one of the questions, banging my head against the misread question and failing to answer it (it was easy, as written -- I did it in 10 or 15 minutes immediately after turning the test in, having realized my mistake), and then running out of time and failing to answer half of another question correctly (also easy -- took me a few minutes when I sat down and thought about it with a clear head). It remains to be seen what my exact score is going to be, but ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. I want to die. Current Mood: depressed |

Hot and Cold
"Nice writeup" was written at the top of my latest homework to come back. The grader also made a point of saying the same thing verbally later on when I was talking to him about something else. It's nice to get positive feedback. In other news, poi is incredibly sexy. I saw someone practicing it at the bus stop in Northampton a little while ago and was instantly smitten. She was on the bus again today. I wonder if she's single... :x Winter can suck it. $317 gas and electricity bill this month. Brutal. |

I am Smoothness Incarnate
He's Just Not That Into You: nom nom nom. Repo: Giles from Buffy! Stabbity! Singing! Smoothness Incarnate: I slipped on the ice coming back from Repo. And comically tried to keep my balance for about 5 seconds. And then pitched over into a snowbank. All while people were watching to make sure I made it safely back to the door. *siiiiigh* |

Things I like: new laptops. Things I like but am disappointed I don't like more: Godiva's chocolate dipped strawberries. They look so very, very delicious. But they are only moderately so. And the quality of the strawberry would seem to be a crap shoot. :( |

A pushy friend demands that I solicit opinions on my LJ on what I should do for the end of the world my 30th birthday. Consider yourselves solicited. Addendum: it is not til next year. Current Mood: gloomy |

Soccer moms. NASCAR dads. Hockey moms. Wal-Mart moms. *Stab* Not the moms and dads, you understand. Nor even the words. The underlying Platonic form, so to speak. |

If you ask a mathematician if he has a countless number of friends, he may reply that the number is certainly at most countable. Smile politely and pat him on the head. |

Anything Goes is highly charming. But then again what else would you expect from Cole Porter and P. G. Wodehouse? |
